INSIGHT
In an era of manufactured heritage, authentic culture becomes a design material.
Cristóbal Balenciaga’s Spanish heritage was embedded in his construction. Flamenco dress and matador costume were recurring references in his work, translated through silhouette, volume and movement.
IDEA
This project takes these cultural references as a design material, combining the raw energy of flamenco with Balenciaga’s sculptural approach to form.
It pushes the tension between structure and movement to its limit, exploring the moment where control becomes release.
ART DIRECTION
A visual world built around movement and contrast: sharp cuts, sudden shifts in framing, light and negative imagery echo the rhythm and intensity of flamenco, while the silhouette carries the sculptural discipline of the reference.
